Lyrics
Angel in Batman Pajamas
The sun's coming up and I’m still down
cookies, toys and cartoon sounds
wake me from the sleep I’ve found.
“Boy don’t you know it’s six o’clock?
you woke up your mom and pop,
and look at the mess you made.”
Now the evening comes and he’s done his best
to put my patience to the test
but when his eyes close, I can see
He’s an angel in Batman pajamas
keeping me whole and sane
sometimes he fools everybody
but I know he’s got wings, just the same.
Breaks and spills and headache pills
ups and downs and all the thrills
still, I’m a man full of pride
He makes me happy and he makes me sad
makes me smile and he makes me mad
but in the end, I know
He’s an angel in Batman pajamas
keeping me whole and sane
sometimes he fools everybody
but I know he’s got wings, just the same.
“Daddy won’t you sing me a song?”
“Ok son, if it don’t take too long”
one day I’ll wish I sang more
To the angel in Batman pajamas
keeping me whole and sane
sometimes he fools everybody
but I know he’s got wings, just the same.
